It has been almost six years to the day when I first heard a heavy metal track.
I still remember the day as if it were yesterday...
As if I was still the boy who thought Enrique Iglesias was the best singer ever!
As if I was still the (and I find this extremely amusing), was still the boy who thought that Linkin Park were the loudest thing outside!
It was then when I first heard (quite randomly), a track I had downloaded off the internet just because I had heard some website call it... well, in many superlatives!
I heard the track... the full seven minutes and twenty eight seconds of the glorious, astounding, astonishing and absolutely spell bounding sound of 'Hallowed be thy name' by Iron Maiden!
It was then when something inside me stirred...
"This is great music!", I thought, I should hear it again! And again... and yet again!
I heard it tens of times the first night... and I still do!
It was maiden who showed me the path to the light of darkness! The aura of the doomed... the exhilarating sound of Metal, but there was much more to be discovered... much more to be found... to be listened to... to worship!
That was the day another metalhead was born at the altar of the gods of metal...
Another legion of the metal army!
